![]() I haven't played a Tokai LP (Les Paul Reborn, Love Rock). Not to mention the gentle, natural relicing that only time can craft. Great old woods, and that chunky, resonant-necked authentic vibe of great old Fenders. These guitars compare very nicely with Custom Shop Fender stuff, imho. (See my pic in the Telecaster Obsession thread.) Then I dug up a vintage Tokai Breezysound (Telecaster). I eventually found an ST-80, nitro finish. It was the second best Strat I had ever played, bested only by a real deal '57 Strat a friend let me play decades ago. I was blown away by the quality! Excellent wood, great build quality. My crush started when I bought a vintage ('79) Tokai Springy Sound ST-60 (Strat) for my nephew. I've become a big fan of the old Tokais, the "spaghetti-logo" models in particular, in the last couple years.
